Bboy Summit 2004 “A Hip Hop Classic”

 In Past Clients

MISSION STATEMENT

The Bboy Summit was created in 1994 due to a need for a community-oriented Hip Hop Event that encompassed knowledge of the history of Hip Hop Culture with the skills of Bboying and Bgirling (breaking or breakdancing). At that point in time, we, as Bboys and Bgirls, did not have our own platform in which to come together, dance and pay homage to the traditional dance of Hip Hop; Bboying.

Each year the event expanded to encompass Bboys, Bgirls, Emcees, Aerosol Artist, and Deejays from around the world, steady building into what has now become the foremost Hip Hop cultural event in the world. Equally, the Summit is proud to be considered the most important event for Lockers and Poppers to journey too to take part in our annual Funk Fest at the Bboy Summit. The impact the Bboy Summit Event has had globally is insurmountable. Most importantly contributing the transmission of Bboy Bgirl style of dance to the new generation Without an understanding of the roots and culture of Hip Hop, the youth of today would not be able to expand on it, further developing the styles into futuristic trends of tomorrow.

Now in our tenth year, the Bboy Summit has grown into an internationally acclaimed 4-day festival, incorporating all aspects of Hip Hop in different plateaus – from the rawest battle circle, to the most prestigious theatre performance, infamous DJ/MC Talent showcase, and live aerosol art painting. Each element of Hip Hop combining together to make the cipher complete. For the tenth anniversary of the Bboy Summit, we will be awarding members of the Hip Hop community for their outstanding contributions to our culture. Most importantly celebrating ten years of growth and continuing prosperity of Hip Hop as a culture.

We are inviting the community to come take par t in this years return to the traditional spirit of Hip Hop, family oriented entertainment, block party, park jam vibe – where skills reign supreme, and you didn’t step in the circle, grab a can or a mic, or touch the wheels of steel unless you could burn.
