She is the future of Gospel…right here in the present. Urban Christian artist, Jocelyn AKA iNDIGO represents anyone who has ever lived for the world, but she is also the blueprint for why turning over a new leaf in the name of God is the ultimate blessing.

As she prepares for the Winter ’08 release of her debut solo album, her current single “Search My Heart” has been a hit with fans. The video was picked up by BET’s Video Gospel, and has received over a quarter-million hits on GospelTube.com, making it one of the most viewed videos in the website’s history.

As a child, iNDIGO was brought up in the church. She was always a gifted vocalist, singing her first solo at the age of four, but as her teen years approached, she grew further away from the church. After graduating from high school, she juggled college along with pursuing a music career. She joined a very talented, R&B girl group named 4BIDN. During this time, iNDIGO opened shows for artists such as Mya, Destiny’s Child, Ashanti, Musiq Soulchild, and worked with producers such as Kwamé, Rockwilder, KeyBeats and Bink.

iNDIGO wrote numerous songs for the group and did much of their vocal production as well. In 2002, Sylvia Rhone signed 4BIDN to a major recording contract with Elektra Entertainment Group. Although they were later dropped from the label and eventually parted ways, iNDIGO continued solo.

As her career evolved, she graduated from Bowie State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. In April 2004, she had a song placement on Frankee’s debut album, The Good The Bad The Ugly. By the following year, iNDIGO decided that she did not want to sing anymore. Although she loved music, she disliked the harsh politics of the music industry

In April 2006, iNDIGO joined the small church ‘About My Father’s Business Outreach Ministries’ in Washington, D.C. and rededicated her life to Christ. She joined the choir and subsequently, God renewed her desire to pursue music again. This time her songs reflect her testimony and her walk as a believer.

Following the death of her father to Lung Cancer in July 2007, iNDIGO acted on a divine vision and launched a Christian-based website, JesusGroupie.com. Through the site, she shows that you can be stylish, cool, and driven, while still giving Christ your all and carrying the anointing with pride. She coined the term “Saved & Fly” which is the motto of the site and the main slogan for her clothing line.

As she works to secure distribution for her music, iNDIGO plans to independently release her debut album, The iNDI1st Project… Breakthrough in Winter 2008. iNDIGO is well on her way to bringing her light to the world.
