Ok, so everyone has been asking what’s new, what’s hot and what’s next… the better question is, how fast can you click on this site?
Last month was crazy with activity as we gear up for several releases. As always, Tygereye clients are available for interviews, so send an email with your request for anyone you’d like to speak with. Here’s the latest on the projects:
Bake Up Boyz – The time is finally nearing for the April 29 release of Fresh Out Da Kitchen, the full-length debut from Michigan’s Bake Up Boyz. In the meantime, we have their mixtape The Cook Up hosted by DJ Green Lantern available to hear on their page. If you have not received your review copy of Fresh Out Da Kitchen (which features appearances from Jim Jones and The Dramatics) yet, please let me know asap!
The Cataracs – We just started a few weeks ago with this Bay Area duo, and if you’re ready to hear something completely fresh and different, then just click on their page! Their new mixtape KIDS, presented by New York’s DJ Eleven, is there for your listening pleasure. The project offers a dozen original self-produced songs from The Cataracs blended with songs from the likes of The Cure, Mac Dre, B.O.B., UGK, Zion I, Usher, T-Pain, Andre Nickatina and many more.
DipSkate – It’s been a full year now working with DipSkate, and things are getting bigger and better all the time! We have some huge announcements coming up, so stay tuned! Congrats to Rachard Johnson who placed 5th at Seattle’s Barnburner competition at the end of March, to Ramelle Knight for his new 50-50 Frames sponsorship, and to Julian Bah who is doing some touring right now with the Rollerblade skate company!
J-Money – Thanks for everyone who has supported J-Money’s recent singles! We’ll have a new update on his official 35*35/Asylum solo release soon!
Jamie Jones – Congrats to Jamie Jones who won both BET’s 106 & Park “Wild Out Wednesday” on March 19, and Music Video 2.0’s “Share The Stage” contest with Swizz Beatz. All you A&R’s looking for the next pop star should have your eye on her!
King Solomon & Giggles – If you’ve taken a listen to the music on their page or seen their previous videos, then you already know that King Solomon & Giggles are some pretty fun guys… seriously! Their new video for “Take Your Pants Off” is coming soon!
Sky Balla – Congratulations are in order for Sky Balla as he celebrates the release of his debut full-length album (April 15) on Tycoon Status/Koch! The album, aptly titled Tycoon Status, is a banger with appearances from E-40, Cassidy, Hell Rell, San Quinn, Mistah F.A.B., Turf Talk and more! If you need a review copy, please contact me asap!
TQ – By now you’ve heard “Paradise” f/ Krayzie Bone, which is produced by Static Major (Rest In Peace). Now TQ has released his second single and video for “S.E.X.Y.” – check his page to take a look! The album Paradise will be released on April 29 (The Hub/Gracie/EMI). Hit us up if you still need a review copy!
U-Krime – Some of you may remember U-Krime from when we worked with them a couple of years back. The Brooklyn-based trio is back with a new mixtape hosted by DJ Whoo Kid entitled The New York Krimes Vol 3: Street Cinema. Click on their page to take a listen! Willie Joe – Atlanta has been poppin’ lately as Willie Joe and the Strong Arm Management team held listening events and a release party for his Thrax On Wax II mixtape and the upcoming Jovan Dais colloborative street album, Good Ass Music. Willie Joe’s album on Sho’Nuff/Capitol is coming soon too!
