Jah Cure Reveals The Universal Cure with April 7 Release Party
On April 7, international reggae star Jah Cure will celebrate the release of his new album The Universal Cure with a private album release event at the Cable and Wireless Golf Academy in New Kingston, Jamaica. The album will be officially released in the U.S. on April 14. Backed by his Iyah Cure band, Jah Cure will perform several singles from the album at the invitational-only launch. Danger Zone Music Group and SoBe Entertainment have worked with Jah Cure to release what has been touted as one of the best reggae albums expected out in 2009 on. The Universal Cure is his first recorded album since his release from prison, and features collaborations with Flo-Rida, Mavado, Jr. Reid and Phyllisia.
In addition to his singles “Mr. Jailer,” “Call On Me,” “Hot Long Time” and “Sticky,” the album features the number one mega hit “True Reflections,” Cure’s seminal penitentiary recording. He also incorporated classic roots reggae tracks like “Sufferation,” “Freedom” and “U Believe in Me,” the last of which expresses gratitude to his supporters.
“I feel excited about this album, because this is the first album that I’ve made since I’ve been out of incarceration,” says Jah Cure. “When all the other albums were released, I was in incarceration, so this is the first album that I made as a free man, and the first album launch I’ll ever have in my life. So this album is more sentimental, and I’m out here to make it grow and make it connect to the fans more. It’s a joy to be able to promote it to my fans and to the media, and to participate in platforms like Facebook and YouTube, and advertise it as a free man to the free world.”
