Everything Is Everything – October News
Thank you to everyone who checks back with us on a regular business. I’m not sure how it happened, but China now comprises the second largest amount of traffic at Tygereye.net. We appreciate all of our media and industry friends who are reading, and of course all of the fans who log on for new music and news! Now we’re ready to get in some of your magazines over there in China 😉
The summer was a whirlwind of activity, and now that things have calmed a bit, we are gearing up for some new projects. Here’s the latest:
The November 7 release date for Cadillac Don & J Money’s album, Look At Me, is right around the corner! We’ve got their first single “Peanut Butter & Jelly” and their new single “Look At Me” available for stream or download on the page. We’ll have updates on their new interviews soon.
Diplomat’s President Freekey Zekey has been making some noise since he joined on with us last month. A lot of you may have heard the rumors about Dip-South, and we’ll have news coming on that upon Zeke’s return home next month. Check his page for some new online interviews!
Jeru the Damaja is still doing his thing with his radio show, and traveling all over the globe as usual. We’ll have some news about his upcoming album and some more tour dates in the very near future.
Okay folks… hopefully you’re in the know now. Jonathan “J.R.” Rotem is KILLING the production game with everything from Hip Hop to Pop to R&B. You know about Rihanna, Rick Ross, Obie Trice, Paris Hilton… you’ve heard about Mario, Mya, Game, Britney Spears… and this is just his short list for this year! 2007 is going to be monsterous, so stay tuned! For now, you can catch J.R. in the current issue of Scratch Magazine (Miami cover).
Last month I went back home to the beautiful Pacific Northwest with Mad Linx for the 15th Annual Virgo Party. 1500 or so lovely people, great music, and all that clean air I miss so much now that I live in New York! Needless to say, Mad Linx rocked it as he always does – don’t sleep on his party skills! Hit us up for interviews or any booking inquiries, and look for Linx on BET’s Rap City Top 10 and special shows.
Mr. Long’s Class of ’89 went out to some select editors last month. If you are specifically interested in doing a review and have not received a copy, please let us know. Check Mr. Long’s page for new interview links and review links as they come in.
As most of you know, Needlz and his wife opened their boutique in New Jersey last month, and are planning a big public grand opening very soon. The boutique is a part of the popular New York venture, Pieces. We have some new songs for stream or download on Needlz page, so take a listen! You can find Needlz in the current issue of Clout Magazine (Ras Kass cover).
Some of you have already noticed that we now have the second run of the Saucony Originals Floor Lords Courageous Sneaker. This time around, they did the show in Grey and Red (first run was Black and Red.) We are really excited, because the first run got such a great reaction! We do have limited samples available for fashion editorials, so let us know your needs.
You’ve probably seen Serius Jones’ new column over at AllHipHop.com, or you might have seen his mention in the highly anticipated Hip Hop Weekly (that’s Dave Mays and Benzino’s new weekly paper), or his interview in the newly revamped Rap Fanatic Magazine (Lloyd Banks cover). While Serius’ street album, King Me, has been getting some positive reviews, he is still hard at work on the next project. We’ll have more news soon, and in the meantime you can find his “Get Serius” column in the Editorial section on AllHipHop.com!
A lot of things are still rolling through frm Summer, so I’ll just mention what is currently on stands… You can catch Chris Styles of Dangerous LLC and Lake in the new October issue of The Source (Lloyd Banks cover), and Khia in the October issue of XXL (Game cover). Midi Mafia has a beatiful two-page layout in the November issue of XLR8R. Mass Appeal ran a great review on Lake and Cormega’s album, My Brother’s Keeper, in their new 10th Anniversary issue (congrats guys!!). Lake and Serius Jones are both in the October issue of Rap Fanatic (Lloyd Banks cover). Jae Millz and Ron Browz are featured alongside Immortal Technique and Juelz, Cam’Ron & JR Writer in both Germany’s Juice Magazine and France’s Rap US Magazine. Killah Priest and DJ Scratch are both in France’s RapMag.
Events, events, events… I know I’ve been quiet the past couple of months – but then again I’ve been working my behind off! I did have the special privilege of attending the VH-1 Hip Hop Honors taping, and that was a blast!
Now I’m headed to TJ’s DJ’s Tastemakers Only conference in Tallahassee (along with Vibe Yardfest and FAMU’s homecoming). On Sunday, Tygereye is joining Miskeen Originals in welcoming Bernard Hopkins to The 40/40 Club, and on November 4 I’ll be moderating a panel at the CMJ Music Conference in New York. If you’ll be at the SEMA Convention in Vegas next week, check for both Melloe Won (Zenetti Wheels/DUB Magazine) and Mad Linx. I’ll be back in Vegas myself in December, then of course again in February for MAGIC and All-Star Weekend (hopefully you’re ready!!!)
If you want to find out where my other spare time goes, check my interviews with Fat Joe, Akon and Ne-Yo over at AllHipHop.com.
Until next time, keep it moving – and remember: if you can’t be good, at least be good at it.
Your most darling,
Dove
