“Where I am today, I would trade all of the fame, money, and perks, to be right here. And that’s making the best music of my life with the legends I grew up on.”

To hear Atlanta rapper Timothy “$hamrock” Rasmussen describe his musical journey, the rewards of hard work are well worth the effort. While many would consider his scorching run through VH1’s White Rapper Show competition in early 2007 to be his biggest moment, $ham feels otherwise.

“My dream came true in 2011 when my debut album came out in stores nationwide,” $hamrock explains. “All the magazines and TV shows are always dope, but my music is always first and foremost in my mind and my heart.”

Those magazines articles (People, Complex, Urban Ink) and TV Shows (Nick Cannon’s Wild N Out, Wilmer Valderrama’s Yo Mama and BET Black Carpet) $ham alludes to have kept him in demand as he continued to further develop his musical style.

On September 4, 2012 $hamrock will release his sophomore effort, Money Green. The project includes appearances from Lil WyteFrayser BoyLord Infamous, and more.  $hamrock is also currently featured in Lil Wyte‘s riotous “Yea Hoe” video from Wyte’s recently released Still Doubted? album.

Mixing what he calls the classic Memphis‘Mafia’ sound with his ATL sensibilities, $ham strives to maintain his Southern roots while expanding his wordplay and punchlines to capture all regions. His work with a bevy of dirty south standouts such as B.O.B., Bohagon, Rittz, Jackie Chain, Chingo Bling, Tum-Tum, Kia Shine, Juney Boomdata, Crime Mob, Bonecrusher along with DJs like DJ Teknikz and DJ Burn One, have garnered him legitimate respect in his transition into the rap industry.

In 2011, $hamrock linked up with fellow Caucasian rhyme-spitter Lil Wyte of Hypnotized Minds for the appropriately-titled Tha WyteRapper $how LP, his debut retail release through Wyte Music Records and Select-O-Hits based out of Memphis, TN.

Fast forward to Fall 2012 as $ham prepares his follow-up Money Green LP featuring a cast of Memphis legends and talent including Wyte, Frayser Boy, Lord Infamous, Hypnotize Minds supergroup SNO, Partee, Miscellaneous, and Thug Therapy.  $hamrock is thankful and confident approaching his release date.

“I feel blessed to still have momentum with my music and to be able to work with some of the artists I have. It always brings the best out of me and helps me grow. Last project was my foot in the door, Money Green I’m walking all the way through.”
